Zack Nawrocki

Founder of Troy Tutors, CS Tutor

Zack graduated from RPI in 2020, with a degree in CS and dual concentrations in AI & data and systems & software (HVAC/Lighting research). He was one of the first engineers at a startup he helped grow to a 9-figure valuation. He owns 3 software companies and is the founder of an engineering University. He is also employed full-time at a company that is making breakthrough innovations with blockchain, ML, and data, to help solve climate change. He’s been tutoring for over a decade and dedicates some weekly availability on Troy Tutors.

Bio

I'm Zack! I have a degree in Computer Science with dual concentrations in AI and data, as well as systems and software. I currently work as a software engineer, where my main roles are software development, machine learning, and data science.

I have made significant academic research contributions, in the form of publications, conferences, and grants/work for the National Science Foundation. Some of these areas include autonomous HVAC control for smart buildings, smart lighting, personalization algorithms, and IoT.

I am a Software Engineer at a MIT-founded data company, which integrates blockchain technology with big data ingestion and machine learning, to put trust into data for advanced analytics, investment purposes, and to provide a strategic tool for environmental impact.

I am the Founder and CEO of Agoro. Agoro has developed an automated educational ecosystem, which carries out the workflow of University departments, with state-of-the-art artificial intelligence to enable University operations to be more affordable and efficient, including both accredited Universities, as well as our personal online learning platform.

I am the Founder and CEO of CollabLab. CollabLab is an all-in-one collaboration and communication solution. It allows users to write code together in real-time, run it, draw on virtual whiteboards, hold one-on-one and group video calls, host live lectures and webinars, chat, and screen share. An all-in-one solution for all of these tasks does not exist anywhere else in the world! It is a popular collaboration tool for engineers at remote software engineering companies to collaborate with.

I founded Troy Tutors in early 2020 and nothing makes me more excited to see how much it has grown and how many people we have had the opportunity to help overtime. Although I tutor fewer hours than I used to, back when I was the only tutor on the platform, I still dedicate a handful of hours each week on Troy Tutors to help students at RPI, where I am either doing one-on-one tutoring, free office hours, live University lectures, summer tech talks, answering questions on our discussion forms, holding free events for the community, and other fun things.

I have been tutoring for almost a decade, with students of all ages and education levels. I've tutored students in many computer science courses, including data structures, algorithms, machine learning, software, introductory CS, and many other CS courses. Additionally, I've helped students learn many programming languages, such as Python, C++, and C. I have experience with the most common languages, as well as many obscure, antiquated, and unconventionally structured languages to help with your courses related to programming language theory. For mathematics, I've tutored algebra, calculus (AP/I/II/III/Differential), geometry, discrete, computational, and other courses from elementary school to graduate school. I am able to approach these areas from many different perspectives, such as CS, math, and standardized testing (SAT/MCAS) perspectives.

Tutoring is something I greatly enjoy doing. Anything is learnable and certain approaches work better with different students. I tailor my tutoring approach differently for each student, to bring out their strengths. Philosophically, I think a strong work-ethic and strong foundations are the most important qualities to succeeding in computer science, mathematics, and virtually all areas of study. I am here to provide those foundations and concepts.
